About
Pauline Shin is a Korean American artist born in Los Angeles and based in Queens, New York.
Across multiple mediums including colored pencil, watercolors, and embroidery, Shin explores her sense of place within the collective: strangers, friends, and family in both public and private settings. These impressions range freely between abstracted organic forms and scene studies; as twisted shapes growing and weaving in and out of each other, possessing qualities of the soft and grotesque, or lonesome, sensual characters searching for privacy in busy cityscapes.
Group Exhibition
2024 Home, Gallery 137, New York, NY
Residency
2018 Fabrica Research Centre, Treviso, Italy
Education
2010-14 BFA, Parsons School of Design, New York, NY
